Quinn Barrett of Wise Bear Books announces 2012 Digital Book Awards

Join me on Monday, October 22nd at 10am Pacific with my guest Quinn Barrett.  Quinn is the master mind behind Wise Bear Books and will be sharing with us the upcoming Wise Bear Books 2012 Digital Books Award Competition.

This is a fantastic opportunity for authors in many genre categories to expose their work to a broad audience.  The winner(s) receive free mega exposure for their work, which helps build your audience and bottom line – make sales!

And be sure to visit Wise Bear Books for more information about the 2012 Digital Book Awards as well as the e-Publishing provided by Quinn and her staff.

Quinn Barrett isn’t just a publisher, she’s an author too.  So she knows the struggles authors have when searching out a publisher.

Quinn shares the story of her business.  “Wise Bear was conceived from my love for books and technology. Writing has been a constant in any career pursuit whether it was a business plan, website copy writing, informational non-fiction, or novels, I am passionate about the written word. The Wise Bear family of websites represent the new paradigm in digital publishing which is the perfect fusion of words, technology, and media.”

About her book, Invisible Snow

Invisible Snow is a classic family drama about wealth, power, greed, and redemption. Marriage is a delicate dance of power between lovers, but Kate and Paul Delacroix are strangers caught in a disparate union somewhere between betrayal and truth. Confronting their true selves for the first time results in an epic clash of wills where only one will prevail. The legacy of the family business is at stake, but power is not always about money. Their showdown results in a shocking twist of fate—a destiny Kate never saw coming.

And a little bit about Quinn herself:

Quinn Barrett is a native of Southern California, currently residing in the West Los Angeles area. After graduating from UCLA with a degree in English, she worked as a corporate business development strategist specializing in emerging growth technology, software and Internet companies.

She is married and raising a teenage son. Her hobbies include reading, walking, golf, cooking and travel.

Invisible Snow is her first novel. She is also the author of Digital Publishing Profits, an informative book that authors will find valuable, regardless of their chosen genre.

10 Strategies to Positively Impact Your Bottom Line Marketing and Selling E-Books

Scheduled for November 1, 2012 publication date

What makes a bestselling book?  In a word . . . sales.

A striking book cover, compelling content, and great writing are also essential ingredients to a book or novel’s success; but if nobody is buying your book, you’ll never have a chance of achieving monetary success, let alone bestseller status.

So whether you’re shooting for the stars or just looking to augment your household income by writing and selling e-books on Kindle, Smashwords, or Apple’s iBookstore, you’ll need to initiate a content-specific strategy if you hope to realize significant bottom line profits.

“Digital Publishing Profits: 10 Strategies to Positively Impact Bottom Line Profits” was developed to help writers and authors make the crucial transition from their creative mindset to becoming digital business strategists.  Writing a book or novel is only half the equation.  The business of marketing and selling e-books can and should be a creative process as well.

There’s never been a better time to be a writer.  Social networking, digital media, and new web-based technologies are making the business of book selling easier than ever.  The strategies contained in this book are the foundation for any emerging digital age book business.  By implementing these 10 strategies, the joy of writing can also become the thrill of profitability.

What a great interview with Quinn. She touched on so many things – I think we could do several shows just to explore some topics deeper. One thing she said that I really liked “Author Collectives.” Every one of us is building our “lists” in order to have more people to market our “stuff” to – how about sharing those lists? I don’t mean selling those names or letting someone just market away to your people – but how about including another author or service (like Page Readers!) to your audience? It’s a dog eat dog world out there – how about making it a “I’ll scratch your back and you scratch mine” instead?
If you’re here and want to collaborate, send me an email! Our success can be shared!
