Rachael J Thorne shares Last Regress

Please welcome Rachael J. Thorne to Page Readers!

About her book, “Last Regress:”

“Alyssa Matthews thought she had an explanation for everything.  After all, as a slightly skeptical paranormal investigator that was what she was used to doing; researching, observing and explaining.

“So when she began writing a paper about a long forgotten case of death by Spontaneous Human Combustion, she assumed it would be a run-of-the-mill piece.  Little did she realize that she was about to be plunged into a situation that would not only force her to question her own sanity, but also her skepticism about the nature of the paranormal.

“Not to mention the dreams that just wouldn’t go away…”

And now a little about Rachael:

What inspired you to write this story? Hmm… I suppose there was a sort of eureka moment with this one.  It was a boring afternoon and I was listening to music, just letting myself drift away and daydream, and that’s when I just let the initial storyline develop in my head.  It was then a case of grabbing a pen and paper and manically scribbling away so that I didn’t forget what I’d daydreamed.  Of course the story developed a lot from that first day, but that’s how the initial idea began.

How are you marketing your book/growing your audience? At the moment my main source of marketing is my own website, social networking tools such as Twitter and Facebook, and the growing network of blogs and promotional websites who are actively promoting indie and self-published authors.

I think my ah-ha moment that finally made me decide to self publish was when I was diagnosed with an auto-immune disease and was signed off my day-job for an extended period of time.  I’m stuck at home, I can’t go to work, I have to do something positive, and there are now all these wonderful opportunities for self-published authors if you are just willing to put the work into it.  That was it for me, time to stop playing at being an author and do it for real.  So I researched like crazy, and finally took the plunge.
