  1. 📮 Urban Jungle: Nature in the City by Ben Wilson (.ePUB)+ In this exhilarating look at cities, past and future, Ben Wilson proposes that, in our world of rising seas and threatening weather, the natural world may prove the city's savior. Since the beginning of civilization, humans have built cities to wall nature out, then glorified it in beloved but quite artificial parks. In Urban Jungle Ben Wilson—the author of Metropolis, a seven-thousand-year history of cities that the Wall Street Journal called “a towering achievement”—looks to the fraught relationship between nature and the city for clues to how the planet can survive in an age of climate crisis. Whether it was the market farmers of Paris, Germans in medieval forest cities, or the Aztecs in the floating city of Tenochtitlan, pre-modern humans had an essential bond with nature. But when the day came that water was piped in and food flown from distant fields, that relationship was lost. Today, urban areas are the fastest-growing habitat on Earth and in Urban Jungle Ben Wilson finds that we are at last acknowledging that human engineering is not enough to protect us from extremes of weather. He takes us to places where efforts to rewild the city are under way: to Los Angeles, where the city’s concrete river will run blue again, to New York City, where a bleak landfill will be a vast grassland preserve. The pinnacle of this strategy will be Amsterdam: a city that is its own ecosystem, that makes no waste and produces its own energy. In many cities, Wilson finds, nature is already thriving. Koalas are settling in Brisbane, wild boar may raid your picnic in Berlin. Green canopies, wildflowers, wildlife: the things that will help cities survive, he notes, also make people happy. ♻️ Book's Info: Author Ben Wilson Size 20.1MB Category Non-Fiction > Educational > Sociology > History > Nature > Urbanisation > Environment File Type ePUB 📥 Download Links: https://uploda.sh/6qRxwg3Caw35 https://devuploads.com/86zml3vrzz3e
  2. 📮 Atlantis by John Cowper Powys (.ePUB)+ John Cowper Powys (1872-1963) was born in Derbyshire, brought up in the West Country (the Somerset/Dorset border area was to have a lasting influence on him), went to Cambridge University and then became a teacher and lecturer mainly in the USA where he lived for about thirty years. On returning to the UK, after a short spell in Dorset, he settled in Wales in 1935 where he lived for the rest of his long life. Published in 1954, John Cowper Powys called this novel, a long romance about Odysseus in his extreme old age, hoisting sail once more from Ithaca. As usual there is a large cast of human characters but Powys also gives life and speech to inanimates such as a stone pillar, a wooden club, and an olive shoot. The descent to the drowned world of Atlantis towards the end of the novel is memorably described, indeed, Powys himself called it the best part of the book. Many of Powys themes, such as the benefits of matriarchy, the wickedness of priests and the evils of modern science which condones vivisection are given full rein in this odd but compelling work. ♻️ Book's Info: Author John Cowper Powys Size 1.03MB Category Fiction > General Fiction/Classics > Fantasy > Historical File Type ePUB 📥 Download Links: https://uploda.sh/7OQVoJgnbwnE https://devuploads.com/ztrz5kmou4zf

  4. 📮 Introduction to Embedded Systems and Robotics by Nayan M. Kakoty(.PDF) This book is a technical guide to fundamentals of embedded systems and robotics, and their application to practical problems. The book hosts the concepts of different elements related to the amalgamation of embedded system and robotics before tackling the physics of robotic systems. This book is the ABC of embedded system and robotics: A for acquiring the concepts, B for building robotic systems, and C for creating solutions. An embedded system, introduced in 1970, is a combination of software and hardware, i.e., a programmable electronic or electro-mechanical system designed for performing a specific task. The operational sequences in the system are rooted in an integrated computational system and thereby it is named embedded. The hardware in an embedded system consists of a programmed microcontroller or microprocessor containing memory modules, input-output interfaces, display systems, communications modules, and electronic and mechanical components. The software present in it comprises of a set of instructions for communicating and controlling the above and other sub-systems interfaced to it. It is written in a high-level programming language, compiled into machine code, and uploaded into embedded hardware, which on execution sends commands to interfacing peripheral components. ♻️ Book's Info: Author Nayan M. 5. 📮 I Dreamed I Was a Very Clean Tramp by Richard Hell (.ePUB) The sharp, lyrical, and no-holds-barred autobiography of the iconoclastic writer and musician Richard Hell, charting the childhood, coming of age, and misadventures of an artist in an indelible era of rock and roll... From an early age, Richard Hell dreamed of running away. His father died when he was seven, and at seventeen he left his mother and sister behind and headed for New York City, place of limitless possibilities. He arrived penniless with the idea of becoming a poet; ten years later he was a pivotal voice of the age of punk, starting such seminal bands as Television, the Heartbreakers, and Richard Hell and the Voidoids—whose song "Blank Generation" remains the defining anthem of the era. Hell was significantly responsible for creating CBGB as punk ground zero; his Voidoids toured notoriously with the Clash, and Malcolm McLaren would credit Hell as inspiration for the Sex Pistols. There were kinetic nights in New York's club demi-monde, descent into drug addiction, and an ever-present yearning for redemption through poetry, music, and art. "We lived in the suburbs in America in the fifties," Hell writes. "My roots are shallow. I'm a little jealous of people with strong ethnic and cultural roots. Lucky Martin Scorsese or Art Spiegelman or Dave Chappelle. I came from Hopalong Cassidy and Bugs Bunny and first grade at ordinary Maxwell Elementary." How this legendary downtown artist went from a prosaic childhood in the idyllic Kentucky foothills to igniting a movement that would take over New York's and London's restless youth cultures—and spawn the careers of not only Hell himself, but a cohort of friends such as Tom Verlaine, Patti Smith, the Ramones, and Debbie Harry—is just part of the fascinating story Hell tells. With stunning powers of observation, he delves into the details of both the world that shaped him and the world he shaped. An acutely rendered, unforgettable coming-of-age story, I Dreamed I Was a Very Clean Tramp evokes with feeling, clarity, and piercing intelligence that classic journey: the life of one who comes from the hinterlands into the city in search of art and passion. ♻️ Book's Info: Author Richard Hell Size 3.8MB Category Non-Fiction > Biographies & Memoirs File Type ePUB 📥 Download Links: https://uploda.sh/FeaOAahSM3aO https://devuploads.com/030ly6k10ejb

  7. 📮 Louis XIV by Olivier Bernier (.ePUB)+ Louis XIV - the Sun King or Louis the Great, as he was also known - ruled France with an iron fist for over half a century, from 1651 to his death in 1715, outliving his son and even his grandson. His court at the Palace of Versailles became the most dazzling on the Continent, and through his intelligence and cunning, he made France the leading power of Europe. 8. 📮 AC/DC: Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be by Mick Wall (.ePUB) Mick Wall penetrates the closed world of Aussie rock legends AC/DC. AC/DC moved to Britain from Sydney in 1975, and soon set up a residency at London's Marquee Club. Their short hair (including the odd mullet), loud rock and attitude chimed well with the lingering pub rock and soon-to-be punk crowd. They weren't really a band for guitar solos, and singer Bon Scott was the original bike-riding, speed-snorting, fighting man. An ex-convict he lived life fast and short; he died in February 1980, just before BACK IN BLACK, their huge-selling album, took off and the second period of AC/DC (with Brian Johnson as lead vocalist) was ushered in. BACK IN BLACK has gone on to sell 45 million copies worldwide, and as the band have become a global phenomenon so their reclusiveness has increased. Mick Wall, the don of heavy metal writing, seeks to penetrate the wall around the Young brothers, and write the first authoritative, in-depth critical account of AC/DC. ♻️ Book's Info: Author Mick Wall Size 4MB Category Non-Fiction > Biographies & Memoirs File Type ePUB 📥 Download Links: https://uploda.sh/ZZCNFlgz12yQ https://devuploads.com/wpfatmtscok1

📮 Fat City by Leonard Gardner (.ePUB) Fat City is a vivid novel of allegiance and defeat, of the potent promise of the good life and the desperation and drink that waylay those whom it eludes. Stockton, California, is the setting: the Lido Gym, the Hotel Coma, Main Street lunch-rooms and dingy bars, days like long twilights in houses obscured by untrimmed shrubs and black walnut trees. When two men meet in the ring—the retired boxer Billy Tully and the newcomer Ernie Munger—their brief bout sets into motion their hidden fates, initiating young Munger into the company of men and luring Tully back into training. In a dispassionate and composed voice, Leonard Gardner narrates their swings of fortune, and the stubborn optimism of their manager, Ruben Luna, as he watches the most promising boys one by one succumb to some undefined weakness; still, “There was always someone who wanted to fight.” ♻️ Book's Info: Author Leonard Gardner Size 0.69MB Category Fiction > General Fiction/Classics Noir File Type ePUB 📥 Download Links: https://uploda.sh/l2vv2caCyRLs https://devuploads.com/1z95cnqtuag8

📮 The Beach by Alex Garland (.ePUB) The Khao San Road, Bangkok -- first stop for the hordes of rootless young Westerners travelling in Southeast Asia. On Richard's first night there, in a low-budget guest house, a fellow traveller slashes his wrists, bequeathing to Richard a meticulously drawn map to "the Beach." The Beach, as Richard has come to learn, is the subject of a legend among young travellers in Asia: a lagoon hidden from the sea, with white sand and coral gardens, freshwater falls surrounded by jungle, plants untouched for a thousand years. There, it is rumoured, a carefully selected international few have settled in a communal Eden. Haunted by the figure of Mr. Duck -- the name by which the Thai police have identified the dead man -- and his own obsession with Vietnam movies, Richard sets off with a young French couple to an island hidden away in an archipelago forbidden to tourists. They discover the Beach, and it is as beautiful and idyllic as it is reputed to be. Yet over time it becomes clear that Beach culture, as Richard calls it, has troubling, even deadly, undercurrents. Spellbinding and hallucinogenic, The Beach by Alex Garland -- both a national bestseller and his debut -- is a highly accomplished and suspenseful novel that fixates on a generation in their twenties, who, burdened with the legacy of the preceding generation and saturated by popular culture, long for an unruined landscape, but find it difficult to experience the world first hand. ♻️ Book's Info: Author Alex Garland Size 0.41MB Category Fiction > General Fiction/Classics File Type ePUB 📥 Download Links: https://uploda.sh/msktUAUbCiWr https://devuploads.com/uv9o9a1iy5vl
  13. 📮 An Extraordinary Time by Marc Levinson (.ePUB) The decades after World War II were a golden age across much of the world. It was a time of economic miracles, an era when steady jobs were easy to find and families could see their living standards improving year after year. And then, around 1973, the good times vanished. The world economy slumped badly, then settled into the slow, erratic growth that had been the norm before the war. The result was an era of anxiety, uncertainty, and political extremism that we are still grappling with today. In An Extraordinary Time, acclaimed economic historian Marc Levinson describes how the end of the postwar boom reverberated throughout the global economy, bringing energy shortages, financial crises, soaring unemployment, and a gnawing sense of insecurity. Politicians, suddenly unable to deliver the prosperity of years past, railed haplessly against currency speculators, oil sheikhs, and other forces they could not control. From Sweden to Southern California, citizens grew suspicious of their newly ineffective governments and rebelled against the high taxes needed to support social welfare programs enacted when coffers were flush. Almost everywhere, the pendulum swung to the right, bringing politicians like Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan to power. But their promise that deregulation, privatization, lower tax rates, and smaller government would restore economic security and robust growth proved unfounded. Although the guiding hand of the state could no longer deliver the steady economic performance the public had come to expect, free-market policies were equally unable to do so. The golden age would not come back again. ♻️ Book's Info: Author Marc Levinson Size 731KB Category Non-Fiction > History File Type ePUB 📥 Download Links: https://uploda.sh/KvopfNGmNoIX https://devuploads.com/podpnne0ux80

  15. 📮 The Last Enemy, Parts 1,2 & 3 (1934-2054) by Luca Luchesini (.ePUB) “The last enemy to be destroyed shall be death”, wrote St. Paul in his letters. But what if someone has already managed to defeat it? Thirty-four years have gone by since an ingenious biochemist, named Louis Picard, invented the ultimate anti-aging drug in 1981, that is known as Telomerax. Louis was obliged to form a selected group of technology entrepreneurs, finance mavens, and secret service professionals to help strategically spread knowledge of the drug. The discovery of Telomerax carried obvious dangers with it, eventually leading to the collapse of society and the near-extinction of mankind, in the ruthless war that broke out. Survivors set out to design a new society, specially designed for the half-gods that individuals were becoming. An action-packed and thrilling apocalyptic novel, “The Last Enemy”, brings to light many issues that we face today, from the clash between the power of the state and the right of citizens, to respecting our limits and controlling the human drive to push ourselves beyond those very limits. ♻️ Book's Info: Author Luca Luchesini Size 725KB Category Fiction > Sci-Fi/Fantasy File Type ePUB 📥 Download Links: https://uploda.sh/U7sezgZ5Nv2L https://devuploads.com/7p6gi2tk9fgh
  16. 📮 The Rise of David Duke by Tyler Bridges (.PDF) In 1969 a pale, skinny sophomore made himself infamous at Louisiana State University by denouncing Jews and blacks at the school's weekly free-speech forum. In 1991 he made himself famous across America by championing white rights in a feverish campaign for the governorship of Louisiana. David Duke, former Nazi sympathizer and Ku Klux Klan grand wizard, lost the election, but he captured an astounding fifty-five percent of the white vote. Duke's rise provokes profound and disturbing questions: How could he have traveled so far? Has he changed? Has America changed? Is he the same demagogue with a new haircut and a natty suit, as his opponents maintain? Or has he matured into a credible spokesman for the conservative white majority, as he claims? What does his emergence tell us about race relations in the United States today? About the level of our political discourse? About how easily a slick politician can manipulate the media? About white frustration? Or does his success simply reflect the particular genius of David Duke? Award-winning journalist Tyler Bridges, who covered Duke's political campaigns for the New Orleans Times-Picayune, examines these questions in a full-length biography of one of the most intriguing political figures of the late twentieth century. Bridges presents a compelling account of a lonely boy, the child of an alcoholic mother and an aloof father, who, idolizing Adolf Hitler and pining for the glories of Nazi Germany, decided that destiny had called him to be the savior of the white race. With an impressive roster of interviews, an eye for revealing detail, and a feel for storytelling, Bridges recounts the rise of David Duke and the coming together of blacks andwhites in a historic coalition in 1991 that stopped him short. ♻️ Book's Info: Author Tyler Bridges Size 32.0MB Category Non-Fiction > Biographies & Memoirs File Type PDF 📥 Download Links: https://uploda.sh/4UrS9iaqzkoB https://devuploads.com/83cqoezeebem
  17. 📮 Witcraft: The Invention of Philosophy by Jonathan Rée (.ePUB) 'We English men have wits,' wrote the clergyman Ralph Lever in 1573, and, 'we have also framed unto ourselves a language.' Witcraft is a fresh and brilliant history of how philosophy became established in English. It presents a new form of philosophical storytelling and challenges what Jonathan Rée calls the 'condescending smugness' of traditional histories of philosophy. Rée tells the story of philosophy as it was lived and practised, embedded in its time and place, by men and women from many walks of life, engaged with the debates and culture of their age. And, by focusing on the rich history of works in English, including translations, he shows them to be quite as colourful, diverse, inventive and cosmopolitan as their continental counterparts. Witcraft offers new and compelling intellectual portraits not only of celebrated British and American philosophers, such as Hume, Emerson, Mill and James, but also of the remarkable philosophical work of literary authors, such as William Hazlitt and George Eliot, as well as a carnival of overlooked characters - priests and poets, teachers, servants and crofters, thinking for themselves and reaching their own conclusions about religion, politics, art and everything else. The book adopts a novel structure, examining its subject at fifty-year intervals from the sixteenth century to the twentieth. Researched over decades and illuminated by quotations from extensive archival material, it is a book full of stories and personalities as well as ideas, and shows philosophy springing from the life around it. Witcraft overturns the established orthodoxies of the history of philosophy, and celebrates the diversity, vitality and inventiveness of philosophical thought. ♻️ Book's Info: Author Jonathan Rée Size 15.4MB Category Non-Fiction > General File Type ePUB 📥 Download Links: https://uploda.sh/5jgxquavz2ju https://devuploads.com/we1pd13aggvj

But for Leslie, falling in love with a Texan was a lot simpler than falling in love with Texas. Upon their arrival at Bick's ranch, Leslie is confronted not only with the oppressive heat and vastness of Texas but also by the disturbing inequity between runaway riches and the poverty and racism suffered by the Mexican workers on the ranch. Leslie and Bick's loving union endures against all odds, but a reckoning is coming and a price will have to be paid. I’m awkward, talk too much or too little, and inevitably say something totally off topic or out of line. I prefer cats. With them, you always know where you stand. Carson is like that too. We’ve only just met, and he’s huge and gruff and kind of prickly. He’s like a big cat, one I want to learn more about. This case of the missing kitty is just what I need to help a cat in need this Christmas as well as spend time with a man who seems to get me in a way no one else ever has. But will we be more than just this job? ♻️ Book's Info: Author Mink Size 1.1MB Category Romance File Type ePUB 📥 Download Links: https://uploda.sh/hYbO5EETmssp https://devuploads.com/ca2ai7godcbl
