  7. 📮 Intercom on Starting Up by Des Traynor (.PDF) With the insane volume of startup literature already out there writing this book wasn’t a no-brainer for us. No one wants to add to the scrap heap. But if you restrict yourself to only reading articles from people who have actually created a business, hit some revenue target, or broken out of the MVP-in-an-incubator stage, there’s very few books and blogs left. This is why we hope this book is relevant to you. It’s not packed with startup clichés, nor is it steeped in myths about how huge companies got their break. Yes, Airbnb sold cereal before they were a 31 billion dollar company, and Slack was one hell of a pivot, but those wells have been over-drilled for their useful lessons at this point. This book is our honest, opinionated take on what we’ve learned building Intercom over the past 6 years. You won’t like it all, you won’t agree with it all, but you’re not supposed to. 11. 📮 Peckinpah by Garner Simmons (.ePUB) It all began in the summer of 1973, when the author--then a young man fresh out of film school--traveled to Mexico in pursuit of the man behind a list of motion picture masterpieces that include "Ride the High Country", "Major Dundee", "The Ballad of Cable Hogue", "Straw Dogs", "Junior Bonner", "The Getaway", "Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid", and the classic western epic that revolutionalized the face of global cinema, "The Wild Bunch". Simmons' seminal 1982 biography of Sam Peckinpah, published by the University of Texas Press and updated in the 1998 Limelight Editions release, is central to this current edition. With more than 100 pages of additional material and photos from the author's private collection providing even greater in-depth analysis of the director's films, this edition looks back on "The Wild Bunch" five decades after its theatrical release to gauge its lasting impact on filmmakers who have followed in Peckinpah's footsteps. Beyond the creative analysis in this new edition, Simmons shares with the reader his personal reflections of the man, the myth, and the legend he came to know as mentor and friend. More than mere biography, more than a mere recitation of events in the life of extraordinary filmmaking talent, this book provides a deep understanding of Hollywood's movie-making process. As such, it serves as both inspiration and cautionary tale. One cannot presume to have an appreciation of American Film without reading what the author shares within these covers. ♻️ Book's Info: Author Garner Simmons Size 916KB Category Non-Fiction > Biographies & Memoirs File Type ePUB 📥 Download Links: https://uploda.sh/7J3lAJrzKKdm https://devuploads.com/f2zafe76vsus

  14. 📮 Women In The Medieval Court by Rebecca Holdorph (.ePUB) While the courts of medieval Europe ate up tales of knights in shining armor and damsels in distress, the reality for the elite women who inhabited those courts could be very different. Medieval society might expect the noblewomen who decorated its courts to play the role of Queen Guinevere, but many of these women had very different ideas. In a society dominated by men, women who stood out from the crowd could experience great success – and greater failure. Great queens, who sometimes ruled in their own right, fought wars and forged empires. Noblewomen acted behind the scenes to change the course of politics. Far from cloistered off from the world, powerful abbesses played the role of kingmaker. And concubines had a role to play as well, both as political actors and as mothers of children who might change a country’s destiny. They experienced tremendous success and dramatic downfalls. Meet women from across medieval Europe, from a Danish queen who waged political war to form a Scandinavian empire, to a Tuscan countess who joined her troops on the battlefield. Whether they wielded power in battle, from a convent or throne room, or even in the bedchamber, these women were far from damsels in distress. ♻️ Book's Info: Author Rebecca Holdorph Size 9MB Category Non-Fiction > History File Type ePUB 📥 Download Links: https://uploda.sh/UtMQL9qOf6YB https://devuploads.com/5r9oqigwn5jn

  19. 📮 The Rise of Hitler's Third Reich by Chris Bishop (.PDF) On 1 September, 1939, German forces stormed into Poland, precipitating nearly six years of savage, unrelenting warfare that would leave large areas of the world in ruins. For the first three years of the conflict, German forces seemed invincible. The swift victory in Poland was followed by the rapid conquest of Denmark and Norway, bringing the Phoney War to an abrupt end. The seeming invincibility of German arms was further strengthened when, in May 1940, the Germans launched their Blitzkrieg in the west, overwhelming Holland and Belgium in a matter of days, driving the British Expeditionary Force back across the Channel and completing their campaign in France within a month. The victory of the Royal Air Force over the Luftwaffe in the high summer of 1940 proved that the Germans could be beaten, and the Royal Navy's early victories in the Mediterranean showed the weakness of Germany's Axis partner, Italy, whose performance in the Balkans and North Africa was little short of disastrous. The Italians' lack of performance was one of the factors that compelled the Germans to invade Yugoslavia and Greece, in order to secure their southern flank before launching an invasion of the Soviet Union in June 1941. This was to prove the biggest mistake of all, but in the short term the German forces swept from one victory to another, their armored divisions storming across the vast Russian plains to within sight of Moscow. ♻️ Book's Info: Author Chris Bishop Size 117MB Category Non-Fiction > History File Type PDF 📥 Download Links: https://uploda.sh/gtMUK78a2OnC https://devuploads.com/zf359as8g5dc
  20. 📮 Bombers over Japan by Keith Wheeler (.PDF) The title is a bit misleading, since this book is mainly a history of the B-29 during WWII, including its development, mechanical workings, early flights, and of course, its bombing missions over Japan. The book is a terrific photo essay, and has really great photos of the innards of the B-29, as well as shots of the B-29 bases in China and then at Guam, pictures from the bombing missions, pictures of the Japanese fighter pilot opposition, etc. Almost every aspect of the history of the B-29 is covered, including a photo of the crash site where Boeing test pilot Edmund Allen was killed. The prototype B-29 had plowed into a meat packing plant - the photo in this book shows pigs that were let loose by the crash standing on the roof of the partially collapsed building! There are just so many photos like that one that are intensely unique and eye-catching; the book just sweeps you back into time, back when the B-29 was first struggling to get going, and then progressing to where it became the most devastating deliverer of death and destruction of WWII. ♻️ Book's Info: Author Keith Wheeler Size 127MB Category Non-Fiction > History File Type PDF 📥 Download Links: https://uploda.sh/XQW21Hl6Tzlr https://devuploads.com/3wb4e1mvev1v
  21. 📮 Chariots of Fire: Tanks and Tank Crews by Philip Kaplan (.PDF) The past 86 years since 1917 have seen the tank develop from a primitive experimental weapon devised to break the deadlock of trench warfare on the Western Front into a fearsomely sophisticated machine designed to dominate the battlefield. Over the same period, tank crews have ceased to be a band of intrepid pioneers and have become an elite arm whose units now boast battle honours ranging from Alamein to Kursk and from Korea to the Sinai. In this illustrated book Philip Kaplan tells the story of the tank's development and of the men who rode into battle on board their tanks, from the Somme in 1916 to the Gulf War of 1991. In doing so he draws upon the accounts - many previously unpublished - of veterans which vividly convey what it was like, for example, to drive in a British Mark II as it led an attack on a German position at Ypres in World War I, or how the commander of a Tiger tank single-handedly halted a British armoured thrust in Normandy in 1944. There are chapters on the Guderian, the great pioneer of armoured warfare whose panzers met their match in the shape of the formidable Russian T34. The Arab-Israeli wars of 1956, 1967 and 1972, especially the latter, which saw two of the largest and most bitterly fought tank battles in history, are also covered, as is the victorious drive on Kuwait by British and American tanks in 1991, when whole Iraqi armoured units were destroyed at long range with virtually no losses to the coalition forces. "Chariots of Fire" brings to life the experiences of tank crews both past and present, and the many unusual and dramatic photographs of men and machines convey a vivid impression of armoured warfare in the 20th century. ♻️ Book's Info: Author Philip Kaplan Size 152MB Category Non-Fiction > History File Type PDF 📥 Download Links: https://uploda.sh/i51PnR1wzBEB https://devuploads.com/uo7416ictqmq
  22. 📮 The Decisive Duel: Spitfire vs 109 by David Isby (.PDF) Many such 'specialist' histories are little more than a catalogue of technical details, dates and numbers - accurate but dry. Here, though, David Isby writes a scholarly account of the development of the two key fighter aircraft of the Second World War which holds the attention throughout. It is punctuated with accounts of events told by the protagonists, covering every aspect of the story - from the development of modern fighter aircraft through to the final fates of both types. In doing so Isby draws on hundreds of sources and knits these together to produce a supremely well-written and complete narrative, easily on a par with the best of the genre. ♻️ Book's Info: Author David Isby Size 114MB Category Non-Fiction > History File Type PDF 📥 Download Links: https://uploda.sh/8bPSqGiOnWlg https://devuploads.com/n99cvfpp5ehe
  23. 📮 War in the Streets by Michael Dewar (.PDF) he British Army calls it "fighting in built-up areas", or "FIBUA"; the US Army calls it "military operations on urban terrain", or "MOUT". It has other names, too, such as "conventional warfare in an urban environment", and most straightforwardly of all it is sometimes called "street fighting". Whatever the terminology, urban combat is becoming increasingly relevant in modern warfare, with vast sums being invested by NATO armies in building relevant training facilities. The British Army alone has one major facility in West Berlin, a second more recently completed on Salisbury Plain and a third planned at Sennelager in Germany. The urbanization of Western Europe is now such that in any future war it would be difficult not to fight in urban areas, and urban combat has consequently become a technique of major military significance. 25. 📮 In Plain Sight by Alexandra Socarides (.ePUB) In Plain Sight explores how the poetry of nineteenth-century American women that was once so visible within American culture could have, with the exception of that by Emily Dickinson, so thoroughly disappeared from literary history. By investigating erasure not merely as something that was done to these women but as the result of the conventions that once made the circulation of their poetry possible in the first place, this volume offers the first book-length analysis of the conventions of nineteenth-century American women's poetry. While each of the chapters focuses on a specific convention, taken together they tell the complicated story of nineteenth-century American women's poetry, tracing the spaces within literary culture where it lived and thrived, the spaces from which it was always in the process of vanishing. By reclaiming these conventions as a constitutive part of nineteenth-century American women's poetry, this book asks readers to take seriously the work these women produced and the role their work might play in remapping American literary history. ♻️ Book's Info: Author Alexandra Socarides Size 2MB Category Non-Fiction > Educational File Type ePUB 📥 Download Links: https://uploda.sh/5zf2wlilHlW3 https://devuploads.com/70v1pvacsjht
