How Not to Fail at Projects by Claude H. Maley (.ePUB)
📮 How Not to Fail at Projects by Claude H. Maley (.ePUB) They say that repeating the same thing and expecting a different result is insanity. This book aims to analyze the reasons for failure in project management. It is filled with stories, anecdotes and satires that highlight how organizations and project managers fall into an insanity spiral. It provides seven Sanity Checks designed to keep project managers from repeating the same mistakes and to help them become project champions: The first sanity check is how and when to appoint a project manager. This first sanity check may be familiar and may well bring back memories of starting a career in project management. The second sanity check is the comprehension of why a project is needed. It helps to overcome the misunderstanding that many have on the nature of projects and its management. The third sanity check is the understanding of the unknown and emphasizes the importance of risk management. The fourth sanity check is capturing who needs what. It is about the constant pursuit to satisfy a host of individuals and at times the, sometimes seemingly, unsurmountable quest to secure resources for a project. The fifth sanity check is who does what. It also deals with satisfying stakeholders and obtaining resources. The sixth sanity check is outside assistance. It is all about breaking the us versus them syndrome when outsourcing in a project. The seventh and most important sanity check is engaging the efforts of others as it deals with peoplethe lifeblood of any organization. The book concludes with a chapter on composing and building powerful microservices. ♻️ Book's Info: Author Claude H. Southern Italian Desserts by Rosetta Costantino (.ePUB)
📮 Southern Italian Desserts by Rosetta Costantino (.ePUB) An authentic guide to the festive, mouthwatering sweets of Southern Italy, including regional specialties that are virtually unknown in the US, as well as variations on more popular desserts such as cannoli, biscotti, and gelato. As a follow-up to her acclaimed My Calabria, Rosetta Costantino collects 75 favorite desserts from her Southern Italian homeland, including the regions of Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Puglia, and Sicily. These areas have a history of rich traditions and tasty, beautiful desserts, many of them tied to holidays and festivals. For example, in the Cosenza region of Calabria, Christmas means plates piled with grispelle (warm fritters drizzled with local honey) and pitta 'mpigliata (pastries filled with walnuts, raisins, and cinnamon). For the feast of Carnevale, Southern Italians celebrate with bugie ("liars"), sweet fried dough dusted in powdered sugar, meant to tattle on those who sneak off with them by leaving a wispy trail of sugar. With fail-proof recipes and information on the desserts' cultural origins and context, Costantino illuminates the previously unexplored confectionary traditions of this enchanting region. ♻️ Book's Info: Author Rosetta Costantino Size 20.0MB Category Non-Fiction > Food & Drink File Type ePUB 📥 Download Links: https://uploda.sh/JXHpiBH56uYV https://devuploads.com/5gdipcymvyey

The Greek Girl's Story by Abbé Prévost (.ePUB)
📮 The Greek Girl's Story by Abbé Prévost (.ePUB) With The Greek Girl’s Story, Alan Singerman presents the first reliable, stand-alone translation and critical edition of Abbé Prévost’s 1740 literary masterpiece Histoire d’une Grecque moderne. The text of this new English translation is based on Singerman’s 1990 French edition, which Jonathan Walsh called “arguably the most valuable critical edition” of Prévost’s novel to date. This new edition also includes a complete critical apparatus comprising a substantial introduction, notes, appendixes, and bibliography, all significantly updated from the 1990 French edition, taking into account recent scholarship on this work and providing some additional reflection on the question of Orientalism. Prévost’s roman à clef is based on a true story involving the French ambassador to the Ottoman Porte from 1699 to 1711. It is narrated from the ambassador’s viewpoint and is a model of subjective, unreliable narration (long before Henry James). It is remarkably modern in its presentation of an enigmatic, ambiguous character, as the truth about the heroine can never be established with certainty. It is the story of the tormented relationship between the diplomat and a beautiful young Greek concubine, Théophé, whom he frees from a pasha’s harem. While her benefactor becomes increasingly infatuated with her and bent on becoming her lover, the Greek girl becomes obsessed with the idea of becoming a virtuous and respected woman. Viewing the ambassador as a father figure, she condemns his quasi-incestuous passion and firmly rejects his repeated seduction attempts. Unable to possess the young woman or tolerate the thought that she might grant to someone else what she has refused him, the narrator subjects her behavior to minute scrutiny in an effort to catch her in an indiscretion. His investigations are fruitless, however, and Théophé, the victim of incessant persecution, simply dies, leaving all the questions about her behavior unanswered. ♻️ Book's Info: Author Abbé Prévost Size 2.14MB Category Fiction > General Fiction/Classics File Type ePUB 📥 Download Links: https://uploda.sh/gFrBXXLGS5RL https://devuploads.com/u009b434y105

The Secret Lives of Bats by Merlin Tuttle (.ePUB)
📮 The Secret Lives of Bats by Merlin Tuttle (.ePUB) Few people realize how sophisticated and intelligent bats are. Merlin Tuttle knows, and he has stopped at nothing to find and protect them on every continent they inhabit. Sharing highlights from a lifetime of adventure and discovery, Tuttle takes us to the frontiers of bat research to show that frog-eating bats can identify frogs by their calls, that some bats have social sophistication similar to that of higher primates, and that bats have remarkable memories. Bats also provide enormous benefits by eating crop pests, pollinating plants, and carrying seeds needed for reforestation. They save farmers billions of dollars annually and are essential to a healthy planet. Tuttle's account forever changes the way we see these poorly understood yet fascinating creatures. "Grips and doesn't let go." -- Wall Street Journal "It's a terrific read." -- Huffington Post "A whirlwind adventure story and a top-shelf natural history page-turner." -- Sy Montgomery, author of The Soul of an Octopus "One of the best, most interesting books I've ever read." -- Elizabeth Marshall Thomas, author of The Hidden Life of Dogs ♻️ Book's Info: Author Merlin Tuttle Size 17MB Category Non-Fiction > Educational File Type ePUB 📥 Download Links: https://uploda.sh/GQvriBrPQZIy https://devuploads.com/qrsunc3oipl4

But some of his actions left unexpected consequences. His parents—and many other adults—are still stuck as teenagers. And now Jonah has a new sibling, an identical twin brother named Jordan. As odd as all this is for Jonah, it’s beyond confusing for Jordan. How does everyone in his family have memories of Jonah when he doesn’t? How can his annoying kid sister Katherine speak so expertly about time travel—and have people from the future treating her with respect? 📮 Thomas Jefferson: Author of America by Christopher Hitchens (.ePUB) "A balanced, readable portrait. A refreshing perspective.” —New York Times Book Review With intelligence, insight, eloquence, and wit, bestselling author Christopher Hitchens gives us an artful portrait of a complex, formative figure in American history and his turbulent era. In this unique biography of Thomas Jefferson, leading journalist and social critic Christopher Hitchens offers a startlingly new and provocative interpretation of our Founding Father—a man conflicted by power who wrote the Declaration of Independence and acted as ambassador to France yet yearned for a quieter career in the Virginia legislature. A masterly writer, Jefferson was an awkward public speaker. A professed proponent of emancipation, he elided the issue of slavery from the Declaration of Independence and continued to own human property. Tens of millions of US workers are required by law to have a license to do their jobs—about twice as many as are in unions. The requirements are set by over 1,500 industry-specific licensing boards, staffed mainly by volunteers from the industries they regulate. These boards have enormous power to shape the economy and the lives of individuals. As consumers, we rely on licensing boards to maintain standards of hygiene, skill, and ethics. But their decisions can be maddeningly arbitrary, creating unnecessary barriers to work. And where boards could be useful, curbing harms and ensuring professionalism, their performance is profoundly disappointing. ♻️ Book's Info: Author Rebecca Haw Allensworth Size 900KB Category Non-Fiction > General File Type ePUB 📥 Download Links: https://uploda.sh/Ye3SiNupd4Ph https://devuploads.com/s8gz30ew619a

The Second Half Roy Keane, Roddy Doyle (.ePUB)
📮 The Second Half Roy Keane, Roddy Doyle (.ePUB) In an eighteen-year playing career for Cobh Ramblers, Nottingham Forest (under Brian Clough), Manchester United (under Sir Alex Ferguson) and Celtic, Roy Keane dominated every midfield he led to glory. Aggressive and highly competitive, his attitude helped him to excel as captain of Manchester United from 1997 until his departure in 2005. Playing at an international level for nearly all his career, he represented the Republic of Ireland for over fourteen years, mainly as team captain, until an incident with national coach Mick McCarthy resulted in Keane's walk-out from the 2002 World Cup. Since retiring as a player, Keane has managed Sunderland and Ipswich and has become a highly respected television pundit. As part of a tiny elite of football players, Roy Keane has had a life like no other. His status as one of football's greatest stars is undisputed, but what of the challenges beyond the pitch? How did he succeed in coming to terms with life as a former Manchester United and Ireland leader and champion, reinventing himself as a manager and then a broadcaster, and cope with the psychological struggles this entailed? In a stunning collaboration with Booker Prize-winning author Roddy Doyle, THE SECOND HALF blends anecdote and reflection in Roy Keane's inimitable voice. The result is an unforgettable personal odyssey which fearlessly challenges the meaning of success. ♻️ Book's Info: Author The Second Half Roy Keane, Roddy Doyle Size 2MB Category Non-Fiction > Biographies & Memoirs File Type ePUB 📥 Download Links: https://uploda.sh/HbSPlaVuJutI https://devuploads.com/chvpn0z2uqt0

Churchill As Home Secretary 1910-11 by Charles Stephenson (.ePUB)
📮 Churchill As Home Secretary 1910-11 by Charles Stephenson (.ePUB) There can be few statesmen whose lives and careers have received as much investigation and literary attention as Winston Churchill. Relatively little however has appeared which deals specifically or holistically with his first senior ministerial role; that of Secretary of State for the Home Office. This may be due to the fact that, of the three Great Offices of State which he was to occupy over the course of his long political life, his tenure as Home Secretary was the briefest. The Liberal Government, of which he was a senior figure, had been elected in 1906 to put in place social and political reform. Though Churchill was at the forefront of these matters, his responsibility for domestic affairs led to him facing other, major, challenges departmentally; this was a time of substantial commotion on the social front, with widespread industrial and civil strife. Even given that ‘Home Secretaries never do have an easy time’, his period in office was thus marked by a huge degree of political and social turbulence. The terms ‘Tonypandy’ and ‘Peter the Painter’ perhaps spring most readily to mind. Rather less known is his involvement in one of the burning issues of the time, female suffrage, and his portrayal as ‘the prisoners’ friend’ in terms of penal reform. ♻️ Book's Info: Author Charles Stephenson Size 20MB Category Non-Fiction > History File Type ePUB 📥 Download Links: https://uploda.sh/6Ue11JWXlfPr https://devuploads.com/wlow9nuo68xv

My Tongue Is My Own by Ann-Marie Priest (.ePUB)+
📮 My Tongue Is My Own by Ann-Marie Priest (.ePUB)+ The first biography of Gwen Harwood (1920–1995), one of Australia’s most significant and distinctive poets. Harwood is renowned for her brilliance, but loved for her humour, rebellion and mischief. A public figure by the end of her life, she was always deeply protective of her privacy, and even now, some twenty-six years after her death, little is known of the experiences that gave rise to her extraordinary poems. This book follows Harwood from her childhood in 1920s Brisbane to her final years in Hobart in the 1990s. It traces how a lively, sardonic and determined young woman built a career in the conservative 1950s, blasting her way into the patriarchal strongholds of Australian poetry. Harwood refused to be bound by convention, ‘liberating’ herself, to use her word, before women’s lib existed. Yet she also struggled for much of her life to combine marriage and motherhood with her creative ambitions. In this sense, she is a twentieth-century everywoman. She is also a unique and powerful presence in Australian literary history, a poet who challenged orthodoxies and spoke in a remarkable range of voices. This illuminating, moving biography reveals a deeply passionate figure both at odds with her time and deeply of it, and reclaims and celebrates this important Australian writer. ♻️ Book's Info: Author Ann-Marie Priest Size 5MB Category Non-Fiction > Biographies & Memoirs File Type ePUB 📥 Download Links: https://uploda.sh/enoIs8Em325H https://devuploads.com/rvwbqyt8cx4q
