There’s only one way to get it. Eliminate them both. Together, they must face this new threat before it becomes too powerful to stop and destroys them all.

18. Broken Magic - Energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed. Tristan Montague has had his ability to cast magic broken. When his confrontation with Edith and Verity leave him unable to access his magic, he must seek out another technique to regain his access. He must learn the Restoring Palm. Now, together with Simon and the help of a dark mage, they must seek out someone who knows the technique and is willing to teach it to Tristan. They must find the Caretaker. Together they must evade Verity, who believes Tristan and Simon are going dark. To Verity, the only solution to darkness is erasure and elimination—a solution they intend to unleash before Tristan can restore his magic.

19. Lost Runes - What some call lost, others call hidden.. By returning to the foundations of the magical sects, Monty and Simon must locate one of the main sources of magic. The lost runes. There’s only one problem. The runes were never lost—they were hidden, kept away from mages and humanity because of the mind-numbing destructive power they contain. The Keepers of Arcana, who hid them, want them to remain that way. They will destroy anyone who tries to harness their power—starting with Tristan Montague. Now, Monty and Simon must find a way to unleash and control the power of the lost runes, accelerate Monty’s ability, avoid being disintegrated by the Keepers and pull all this off without obliterating, well…everything.

20. Archmage

20. Archmage - When faced with overwhelming odds, there’s only one option…overwhelming power. When Monty and Simon emerged from Hell, they did so possessing the first of the five arcane runes—Mu. Divided between the two of them, the rune is the only way to stand against and defeat a Keeper of the Arcana. Keeper Gault has only one purpose now: the obliteration of Montague and Strong. After his second, Tellus, failed to capture the rune, Gault finds himself forced to take extreme measures. In order to increase his power and recover the elder rune, he must erase Monty and Simon from existence. Now, Monty and Simon must find a way to harness and control the power of the first rune before it’s too late. Their only chance of defeating Gault is using the energy contained within the elder rune. There’s only one small problem. The rune possesses too much power for them. Any attempt to use it would destroy them both. To access the elder rune, they need the power of an Archmage. To achieve this power, they need to cause a runic shift in Monty. A shift he isn’t ready for.

21. Entropy

21. Entropy - Every ending is a beginning, unless the ending is final. With the First Elder Rune divided between them, Monty and Simon must confront Keeper Gault and stop him from undoing reality and everyone in it. There’s just one obstacle. The First Elder Rune is too strong for them, and not even an Archmage can help them now. As Gault strikes at those closest to them, he offers them one choice. Surrender the rune…or everyone you know dies. In order to harness the power of the rune, they must find a way to restore it without destroying themselves in the process. They have a plan and only one opportunity to make it work. If they fail, Gault will capture the First Elder Rune, unleash entropy, and plunge the world into darkness.

22. Corpse Road - Killing an enemy once is difficult…having to kill them twice is just unfair. Monty’s recent shift in power after using the First Elder Rune has awakened old enemies. Enemies who were once dead have been cursed to roam the earth again…with one purpose. Destroy Tristan Montague and Simon Strong. Now, together with the help of Simon and his uncle Dex, Monty must discover how the dead have risen—and, more importantly, how to return them to their graves. In order to succeed, they must locate a powerful necromancer rumored to be dead for centuries. When it comes to old necromancers, the dead have a tendency to wander the night, and the rumors of their death may be exaggerated. If Monty and Simon don’t reverse the curse in time, they may soon join the undead hunting them.

Now, together with Monty, Simon must find a way to stop a group of fanatical killers intent on his destruction, all without help from Kali, the goddess who created this mess in the first place.
