1. Impostor of Rome

1. Impostor of Rome - All Romans lie. It is a statement of fact, not a supposition. How can I be so certain, you ask? Because I am a Roman, one of fame and glory, and I am the biggest liar of them all. My name is Marcus Agrippa, and what I have to tell you would shake the very foundations of Rome itself were my words to come to light today. Hopefully, by the time these writings of mine are discovered in what I hope will be hundreds, perhaps even thousands of years from now, the secret that I have borne most of my life will no longer matter. I can only pray to the gods that it is so, for you see, the name that I wear now with such ease and the one which all of Rome knows me by and admires is not the name that belongs to me. It never did. So, take heed, friend, for if you choose to go further, you will learn of such things that you cannot even imagine. Tales of heroism and deceit, honor and treachery. It is all here, written by my own hand now that I am free to tell what really happened.

2. Warrior of Rome

2. Warrior of Rome - 43 BC, Rome: As Gaius Octavius Thurinus—now known as Gaius Julius Caesar—crosses the Rubicon and marches on the Eternal City with eight legions at his back, the Roman Senate comes to their senses and agrees to make him consul. Not yet twenty years old, Octavius becomes the youngest consul in the history of the Roman Republic—but his ambitions won't stop there. Using his newly acquired Senatorial powers, Octavius reverses the amnesty protecting the Liberators from prosecution for Julius Caesar’s murder, setting up an inevitable clash with the faction's main leaders, Brutus and Cassius, who are growing more powerful in the east by the day. Meanwhile, in the northwest, still smarting after his humiliating retreat from Mutina, Marcus Antonius, along with Marcus Lepidus, begin marshaling their forces for a push on Rome to oust that arrogant Thurinus boy and his loyal friend, Marcus Agrippa. Vastly outnumbered and squeezed by enemies from two directions, Octavius must choose between the lesser of two evils if he wishes to survive—ultimately forming a political union that will change the course of history. But all men are mortal after all—formed of blood, bones, and tears—and no agreement lasts forever.

3. Statesman of Rome

3. Statesman of Rome - 39 BC. Now the governor of Transalpine Gaul, Marcus Agrippa is tasked with quelling a rebellion of the Aquitani tribes, led by the charismatic Brannus, who has sworn to eradicate every Roman from the province or die trying. But Agrippa’s troubles are only just beginning, for things are not quite what they seem, with powerful forces working behind the scenes to ensure that he fails and never returns to Rome. With the Aquitani now in revolt, and word arriving that some of the Germanic tribes are preparing to cross the Rhine, the one-time slave named Luan will need all of his intelligence, strength, and ingenuity just to survive. Meanwhile, back in Rome, the pact between the triumvirs and Sextus Pompey is reaching the breaking point, with the city once again starving from lack of grain as pirates raid the sea lanes with impunity. Despite the deteriorating circumstances, the senior member of the triumvirs, Marcus Antonius, has little interest in Rome’s plight, preferring to remain in Egypt preparing to invade Parthia. After Octavius suffers a devastating naval defeat against Pompey, and with a populace on the brink of insurrection and few seaworthy ships left in his fleet to call upon, he turns to the one person who can offer Rome salvation—his right-hand man, Marcus Agrippa. But Agrippa’s journey is far from over. As the tides of war shift, he finds himself not only dealing with rebellious tribes and political machinations but also his arch rival and enemy, Marcus Antonius, with the two men destined to clash in a decisive battle at Actium that will determine the fate of Rome and give birth to an Empire.
